The Farm

A working King Valley farm growing fruit, berries, vines, vegetables, herbs and ideas.

The Farm

Growing with the seasons in the King Valley.

Emuvale is a small working farm where fruit, berries, vines, vegetables, herbs and new growing projects all sit together. Some crops are for the kitchen, some for preserving, some for paddock-to-flask experiments — and some are simply because we want to see how well they grow here.

What is growing here

The farm includes citrus, apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, plums, pomegranate, mulberry, walnuts and established Pinot Noir vines, along with strawberries, seasonal vegetables, herbs and warm-season crops such as pumpkins.

A practical farm

We try to use as much of each crop as we can. Fruit can become preserves or recipe ingredients, citrus peel can be saved for later experiments, prunings can have a second life, and the journal records what works — and what needs changing next season.

Farm produce

Orchard & berries

Stone fruit, pears, apples, citrus, mulberry, pomegranate, walnuts and berry growing are part of the long-term farm plan.

Seasonal crops

Pumpkins, vegetables, herbs and other seasonal plantings give us ingredients to cook with, preserve and test.

Citrus fruit

Use the whole crop

We are interested in making better use of what the farm produces — including peels, prunings, surplus fruit and unusual harvests.
